Johnny Huntoon is a choreographer and Executive Director of Alluvion Dance Chicago. Earning his BA in Dance and Business Management from Columbia College Chicago in 2016, Huntoon founded ADC in 2015 and has since choreographed over 16 works in Chicago including works set on Cerqua Rivera Dance Theater and Columbia College Chicago at the Auditorium Theater. Working under Mark Yonally, Cherice Barton, AC Ciulla, Rhonda Miller and Gregg Russell, Huntoon’s works feature a twist on a contemporary foundation mixed with the intricacies of movements found within rhythmic based dancing. He is dedicated to offering choreographic opportunities for up and coming choreographers to present their work.
Tessa Ritchey was born and raised in Walworth, Wisconsin, where she trained at The Dance Factory. She graduated form The University of Iowa in 2018 with a B.F.A in Dance Performance and Choreography. Tessa has had her work presented at the 2018 ACDA North Central Conference, College of DuPage’s Choreographic Showcase, MADCO 2’s Dare To Dance, Trifecta’s A New Light, the Iowa Dance Festival, Emergence, SMUSH Moves Vol. 7, JELLO, & MKE Fringe. Tessa is currently in her third season as a Company Dancer with Danceworks Performance MKE and first season as an Artistic Director for Alluvion Dance Chicago.
Kayla Castellon is a dance artist and choreographer originally from Miami, now based in Chicago. She holds a BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts, where she studied under Donna Faye Burchfield. Kayla has performed and collaborated with artists and companies including Adele Myers and Dancers, Rosie Herrera, Pioneer Winter Collective, Jesse Zaritt, Netta Yerushalmy, and Jonah Bokaer.
Her choreographic work has been presented in both traditional and alternative spaces. While living in Miami, she was a recipient of the Knight Foundation’s New Work grant for her interdisciplinary performance project Show and Talk. Since relocating to Chicago, she has been choreographing on Alluvion Dance Chicago and looks forward to continued creative exploration within the city’s vibrant dance community.
